Judy Boyes lives and works in the Lake District, surrounded by the fells which inspire her work. Her subjects are found in the quiet corners of Lakeland, often overlooked by visitors. Stone buildings, rustic village scenes, streams tumbling through hidden valleys - all observed with a keen, perceptive eye and transcribed in a fresh watercolour style which is both natural and unforced, and admirably catches the atmosphere of the area. A member of the Society of Women Artists and the British Watercolour Society, Judy Boyes has also exhibited at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours in London. The Artist magazine has featured her river scenes on its cover and in written articles, and the North Western Postal Board has used her 'letter-box' paintings. Judy sells her originals and prints throughout Britain and abroad and has established herself as Lakeland's leading artist. |
